BULUUY MIRRII
Sizing Guide
Every Buluuy Mirrii garment is made to be worn and felt. Use this guide to find your perfect fit before you order.
How to Measure Yourself
Wear Minimal Clothing
Measure in fitted underwear or a thin base layer for the most accurate result.
Use a Soft Tape
A flexible fabric measuring tape gives far more accurate results than a ruler.
Keep It Level
Hold the tape parallel to the floor and snug against your body — not tight.
Measure Twice
Take each measurement twice and use the larger figure when between sizes.
Finding your perfect fit
Buluuy Mirrii garments are designed with intention — shaped to honour the body and move with it. Our sizing is based on Australian standard sizing but may vary slightly by garment style and fabrication. We always recommend taking your own measurements and comparing them to the chart below before placing your order.
If you are ever unsure, please reach out to our team before ordering. We would rather take a moment to help you find the right size than have a garment that doesn't feel exactly as it should.
Important: Buluuy Mirrii sizing reflects the garment's finished measurements, not body measurements. Always compare your body measurements to the chart and allow for the intended ease of the garment's cut.
Where to measure
Around the fullest point
Place the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level across your back. Do not pull tightly — the tape should lie flat but comfortably.
Natural waistline
Measure around the narrowest part of your torso, usually about 2–3 cm above your belly button. Breathe out naturally before measuring.
Widest point of the hips
Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, usually about 20–23 cm below your natural waist.
Shoulder to hem
Measure from the highest point of your shoulder down to where you want the garment to end. This is most useful for dress and coat lengths.
For trousers & pants
Measure from the crotch seam to the desired pant hem along the inner leg. This is most accurate when measured against a well-fitting pair of trousers.
Across the back
Measure straight across the back from one shoulder point to the other. This is particularly important for fitted jackets and structured garments.
Australian women's size chart
All measurements below are in centimetres and represent body measurements. Buluuy Mirrii garments are designed with varying degrees of ease — refer to individual product notes for specific garment measurements where available.
* All measurements are approximate body measurements in centimetres. Individual garment measurements may vary by style and cut.
Dress & skirt lengths
The following reference lengths are measured from the natural waist. Use these as a guide when selecting between midi, maxi, and mini styles.
* Total dress length measured from highest shoulder point. Exact length varies by design and is noted on each product page.
Tops, blouses & jackets
Pants, trousers & skirts
* Inseam measurements are based on a full-length trouser. Cropped and wide-leg styles will vary — see product descriptions for garment-specific measurements.
Understanding our silhouettes
Buluuy Mirrii garments are created in a variety of silhouettes, each designed to tell a different story. Below are the fit descriptors you will find on individual product pages.
Slim Fit
Cut close to the body with minimal ease. Best suited to those who prefer a tailored, body-conscious look. Size up if you prefer more room.
Relaxed Fit
A comfortable, easy silhouette with generous ease throughout. True to size for most. Can be sized down for a slimmer appearance.
Oversized Fit
Deliberately voluminous and draping. We recommend sizing down one size from your usual unless you want an extremely roomy look.
Structured Fit
Boned, padded, or built with internal structure. Fits precisely to the measurements listed — accurate sizing is essential for comfort.
Wrap Style
Adjustable at the waist via ties. Generally accommodates a range of sizes. Refer to the hip and bust measurements for best fit.
Bespoke / Draped
Hand-draped and shaped during construction. Fit may vary by piece. Contact us for garment-specific measurements before ordering.
How our pieces look on
To help you visualise how garments fit and drape, here is the sizing information for the models featured across our collection imagery.
Primary Collection Model
Extended Range & Couture Model
Note: Garment lengths shown on our models are based on their listed heights. If you are significantly shorter or taller than 175 cm, lengths may fall differently. Contact us to discuss garment-specific length queries before ordering.
How your fabric moves
The stretch and drape of a fabric significantly affects how a garment fits and how you should size for it. Each Buluuy Mirrii product page indicates the fabric stretch category. Use the guide below to understand what to expect from your chosen piece.
No Stretch
Woven fabrics such as silk, linen, and structured cotton. Fit is fixed — size exactly to your body measurements with no flexibility. Consider sizing up for comfort.
Low Stretch
Fabrics with a slight give, such as stretch woven or ponte. Allows for modest ease of movement. Size to your measurements or size down for a fitted look.
Medium Stretch
Jersey, modal blends, and similar fabrics. Comfortably accommodates one size range in both directions. A forgiving fit for most body types.
High Stretch
Elastane-rich fabrics and active knits with 4-way stretch. May be sized down. The garment will expand generously to the body. Refer to product notes for guidance.
Fabric care & fit over time: Natural fabrics such as silk and linen may soften and relax slightly with wear and washing. Structured pieces retain their shape when cared for according to the garment's care label.
If you fall between sizes
Many of our customers find themselves between standard sizes. Here is our general guidance — though we always recommend reaching out to our team for advice on specific pieces.
Our General Rule
When in doubt, size up.
It is always easier to take in or adjust a garment that is slightly too large than to let out one that is too small. Most of our pieces can be tailored by a local seamstress with ease. If you are between sizes on a structured or fitted piece, we strongly recommend sizing up and having it fitted to you.
Between sizes on bust and waist
Choose the size that fits your bust. Waist shaping can often be adjusted by a tailor. If the garment has a defined waist seam, there is usually room to take it in slightly.
Between sizes on hips and waist
For bottoms and fitted dresses, always size to your hips. The waistband can be taken in by a tailor if needed, but let out seams are limited on structured garments.
Relaxed or draped styles
For relaxed, oversized, or wrap styles, you have more flexibility. These silhouettes are designed to accommodate a range of proportions. When in doubt, contact us and we will tell you which size works for the specific garment.
Structured couture pieces
For structured, boned, or couture garments, fit precision is critical. If you are between sizes on a piece like this, we strongly recommend a custom order rather than a standard size. Contact us to discuss your measurements.
Made for your measurements
For clients who sit outside our standard size range, or who require a garment tailored precisely to their proportions, Buluuy Mirrii offers custom sizing on selected styles. A custom-sized garment is crafted using your exact measurements to ensure an impeccable fit.
Please note: custom sizing is a separate service from our custom couture or bespoke order process. A custom-sized garment uses an existing Buluuy Mirrii design but is cut to your measurements, rather than standard sizing.
