Our returns philosophy

At Buluuy Mirrii, every garment is a handcrafted work of art — made with care, cultural intention, and precision. Because of the bespoke nature of our pieces, we ask that you review this policy carefully before requesting a return or exchange.

We want you to love your Buluuy Mirrii piece. If something isn't right, we are here to help and will always work with you to find a fair resolution in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Please note: All return and exchange requests must be initiated within 14 days of the delivery date. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with all tags attached and original packaging included.

What is eligible

To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must meet the following conditions. Please review carefully before lodging a request.

  • Item received in a damaged or faulty condition
  • Incorrect item sent in error
  • Item significantly different from description
  • Unworn, unwashed, with all tags attached
  • Returned within 14 days of delivery
  • Original packaging included

✗ Not Eligible for Return

  • Custom-made or bespoke couture orders
  • Sale or discounted items (unless faulty)
  • Items that have been worn, washed, or altered
  • Items without tags or original packaging
  • Requests made after 14 days of delivery
  • Items damaged due to customer misuse

Please note: Due to the handcrafted nature of our garments, minor variations in pattern placement, beading, or embroidery are a feature of the artisan process — not a fault. These are not grounds for return.

Starting your return

To begin a return, please follow the steps below. Do not send items back without first contacting our team — unrequested returns cannot be processed.

Email Us

Contact us at media@buluuymirrii.com.au within 14 days of receiving your order. Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return. Please attach photos if the item is faulty or damaged.

Await Authorisation

Our team will review your request and respond within 2–3 business days. You will receive a Return Authorisation number and instructions for sending your item back.

Pack & Post

Securely pack the item in its original packaging with all tags attached. Include your Return Authorisation number clearly inside the parcel. We recommend using tracked postage as Buluuy Mirrii is not responsible for items lost in transit.

Processing

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you by email. If approved, your exchange, store credit, or refund will be processed within 5–7 business days.

Size & style exchanges

We are happy to offer exchanges for a different size or style where stock is available. As many of our pieces are one-of-a-kind or limited edition, exchanges are subject to availability at the time the return is received.

If your preferred size or style is unavailable, we will offer you a store credit to the value of the returned item, valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

Limited Edition & One-of-a-Kind Pieces: Many Buluuy Mirrii garments are produced in very limited quantities. We strongly recommend contacting us before returning to confirm availability of your preferred exchange item.

Refund options

Refunds are offered in the following circumstances: the item received is faulty or damaged, the incorrect item was sent, or the item is significantly not as described. For change-of-mind returns, we offer store credit only.

Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days of us receiving and assessing the returned item. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (faulty, damaged, or incorrect item). Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty.

Bespoke & custom pieces

All custom-made, bespoke couture, and made-to-order pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged, except in the case of a manufacturing fault.

Custom orders are created specifically for you, incorporating your measurements and design preferences. Because of this, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges for change of mind on any custom piece.

If you believe your custom piece has a manufacturing fault, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order with photos and a description of the issue. We will assess each case individually and work with you to find a resolution.

Before placing a custom order, we encourage you to discuss all details — fabric, design, measurements, and timeline — with our team to ensure your garment is exactly as you envision. Contact us at media@buluuymirrii.com.au.

Sending items back to us

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect. We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured postage service, as Buluuy Mirrii cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in return transit.

Please do not send items internationally without first confirming with our team, as customs duties and import fees may apply and will be the customer's responsibility.

Return Address: Please email us at media@buluuymirrii.com.au to receive your Return Authorisation and return address details. Do not send items without prior authorisation.

Store credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. If you require an extension, please contact our team.

Frequently asked questions

Sale and discounted items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged, unless the item is faulty or not as described. This is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us at media@buluuymirrii.com.au within 7 days of receiving your order. Include your order number and clear photographs of the damage. We will prioritise your case and arrange a replacement, exchange, or full refund.
Yes, size exchanges are accepted on full-priced ready-to-wear items within 14 days of delivery, subject to availability. Please contact us as soon as possible as our pieces are often limited edition. If the size is unavailable, we will issue store credit.
Once your returned item is received and approved, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days. The time for the funds to appear in your account may vary depending on your bank or payment provider — typically an additional 2–5 business days.
Items purchased at in-person events, markets, or pop-up shows are subject to the same returns policy. Please contact us via email with your proof of purchase within 14 days of the event date.
Return shipping is at the customer's expense unless the item is faulty, damaged, or we sent the wrong item. We recommend using a tracked service as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit on their way back to us.

Australian Consumer Law

Our returns policy is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement, repair, or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
